Hanky Panky

My favorite underwear are Hanky Panky's. They are comfortable, cute and have the perfect rise. Only problem is they are pretty expensive - $18 a pop. And that's super expensive if you have a dog. I was excited to find Hanky Panky lingerie as one of DailyCandy's deals of the week!! Visit barenecessities.com and get 25% off by entering DCHANKY when you check out. Definitely time to stock up!

Gap Shearling Boots

I'm very impressed with The Gap. I mean, check out these boots! They also come in a darker brown color. And they are only $78!! So cute! Now I just have to rationalize why I need another pair of boots...

Versatile Tie Tops

This top by Rachel Pally is like having several all in one. You can tie it to fit a bunch of different ways. Here are a few examples. There are a few other colors available. I found them on this great website call The Fashion Pulse.

Holiday gifts and decor

I think the holiday bug has gotten to me. After Christmas tree shopping and listening to holiday tunes I've started to look for cute gifts. Here's gingerbread house you can personalize! So cute and edible too. I know it's a little cheesy but aren't a lot of the holiday decorations? In case you are wondering I found this on the Red Envelope.

I know that typically I don't write about anything but clothes/fashion but hey, afterall, it's the holidays!

Laundry by Shelli Segal

I can always count on Nordstrom when I'm looking for something totally different. Check out this cute outfit by Laundry by Shelli Segal. Both are available on Nordstrom's website.

Here's a cute (but cheap bag) I found in the juniors section at Nordstroms. It would look cute with this outfit. It's a great knock off of the Kooba bag in my last post.

Kooba bags

Kooba has another cute new bag! This is the Claudia bag. I love the Hobo style bags. Great for day or night.

Here is the first famous Kooba bag - appropriately named the Sienna.

More Holiday Dresses

I probably shouldn't be thinking about wearing a slinky dress since tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I will probably stuff myself silly but there are just so many great dresses out there right now. Bluefly has a ton of cute ones..especially for a more formal holiday party or winter wedding. Here's a few I liked. To top it, off their dresses will be 20% off on Saturday! The first one is by A.B.S., the second is by Vera Wang and the last one is by Nicole Miller.

Local Fashion

For those of in Chicago, there is a great denim store called The Denim Lounge. It's located inside a cute children's store called Madison and Friends. The have the best selection I've seen anywhere. They carry all the latest brands such as Rock & Republic, Joe's and True Religion to name a few. So if you live in the area or are visiting Chicago, I'd highly recommend checking it out. It's located in the heart of the Gold Coast at 940 N. Rush Street.

Yahoo's Shopping Helper - Shoposphere

Yahoo recently launched a new product called Shoposphere. It's great for keeping track of all the things you want and letting others know without actually telling them. These are called "pick lists." You can also create/read product reviews and search for the lowest price. This is a great way to let "Santa" know what you want for the holidays.

Winter Coats

After a delayed fall, winter is here to stay. We saw our first snow this week. I'm shopping around for a new winter coat. I really like these puffy ones with the faux fur around the hood. They are somewhat snow bunny meets urban chic.
This one by Diesel is available on Shopbob.

Convertible Wrap

I love this convertible wrap sweater...so versatile and great for many occasions. Also available in teal. It's on Bluefly for only $53. What a great deal!

Laguna Beach everywhere...

The cast from the reality (or maybe not so reality) show Laguna Beach seem to be everywhere. They were spotted here in Chicago last weekend at an italian restaurant called Ballo and then again at Crobar. I guess it was mostly the people from next seasons cast. Here is Kristin on a shopping spree in LA. The bag is cute but overall the clothes are too country western for me.

The end of designer denim?

I came across this article on Slate about designer denim. What makes women pay $200+ for something you can buy for $50 or less? What's ironic is jeans aren't made out of any super expensive, hard to find material and nor are they hard to make. Just like anything else, you want the best and what makes you look the best. Or at least makes you feel that good. Designer denim is somewhat of a status symbol. Only those who know the brands can glance at a back pocket and know who makes them. There are so many brands that it's becoming harder to keep up

The article mentions that the designer denim trend has peaked. I think jeans have become the new "black pants" but only better. Your favorite pair of jeans not only makes you look good but they are also comfortable and you can wear them almost anywhere. Every trendy new club or restaurant you set foot in you will see most young women wearing them. Comfort and looking great don't always go together when it comes to women's clothing so that's another bonus for jeans. I can't imagine designer denim going out of style but then again at some point everything does. I definitely thing this trend will stick around longer that most.

Holiday Dresses

Thanksgiving is just around the corner so I'm on the lookout for cute holiday dresses or outfits. Banana Republic has some dresses that I really like. I love the rich color of this strapless number. It also comes in a deep green color. Banana also has cute jewelry and shoes that complete the dress so you don't have to search for those perfect shoes or earrings once you've found the dress.

Slouching is okay...

When it pertains to your sweaters. I love the slouchy sweaters that are in style this season. I found a great brown & black one at Club Monaco. Here's a cashmere slouchy sweater by Celine. It's available at Neiman Marcus. Another great thing about these sweaters is you can wear a cute camisole underneath it to dress it up for evening. For day, a comfy long sleeve, fitted shirt with a scoup or v-shaped neckline (similar to the one shown) would work best. A long beaded necklace or two would also look great with a slouchy sweater. Urban Outfitters is a good place to find trendier necklaces without breaking the bank.
